As Vice President of Marketing at TYROLIT LLC, located in Cincinnati, Ohio I was very involved from the start in pressing for a platform that could improve our external and internal communications and exposure. I am in charge of all Marketing and Applications. We take a very technical approach to marketing and thusly have our Applications Engineering Team reporting to me. From a traditional marketing perspective I am responsible for everything our market sees, touches, etc. One area here that needed major improvement was communication.

 

From an internal standpoint we really struggled with information sharing. Our own staff and key partners in the sales channel needed more information and needed to control how and when they got it. To say that we accomplished this is a major understatement. Our team is now so much more prepared and informed that they are actually able to market themselves as being unique and offer in the field and on the spot value added service and information that is accurate. We really added to the professionalism and approach each sales professional is able to provide. We use WECO e-Selling here for everything from order confirmations to outstanding invoices. We use it for generation of promotional items to clearing out excess or old inventory. If it was answered by our customer service department, our accounting department, or even our portions of our manufacturing facilities, its now finger tip ready and transparent. It has been a very good solution for us, both from a functionality standpoint and also from a technical reliability standpoint.

 

ConsultingNetwork.com has given us unplanned and unexpected capacity that we are now able to use more productively. Cost savings that I did not even consider and would not have been able to fully quantify correctly knowing what I know now.

Externally we have actually created another channel. While our sales representatives prepare their sales calls on-line prior to their customer visits using up-to-date information from the e-Selling system, our partners are actually starting to just place orders and generate their own quotes using the information we have chosen to share and develop for our on-line catalogs. It is critical that our pre-sales processes work reliably and that our product catalogue information is effectively managed and always correct and up-to-date for this to all work properly and I can say thankfully it does. So much so that I dont even think about it. Our track record in using the WECO products for these functions has been excellent. Our industry is very competitive. We needed an edge and with that edge we needed to reduce the errors and risk we had with our staff. We have clearly done this and are now able to be more proactive and externally focused rather than reactive and internally focused. I must also mention that if we conceptualize another idea or concept for the tool or we need some additional support, we also receive first-class support whenever we need it. I don't want to set any precedents here, on a few occasions early on our requests were not what I would call usual. We asked for a lot and we received even more.

 

In summary, our experience with WECO products and WECO / ConsultingNetwork services has simply been excellent and we plan to continue our partnership with them.
